In New Zealand we have been inside our homes for 26 days. During that time I've experienced anxiety, fear and feelings of detachment.
It has almost been like a grief process.
If you thought you had the chance to stay home and play your instrument all day you would be ecstatic - right?
Actually there have been days when I've felt to flat to even attempt to make music. What I realised when the situation seems hopeless, you give up - on everything. The economy, the health scare, having to contend with no hugs from your mates, it all seems too much.
However, what I have learned is, the key is HOPE. Having hope will allow you to:
1. Live for the day, that is be present in the moment of where you are.
2. Be kind to those around you.
3. Let you plan for the future, without fear.
4. Enjoy a hobby just for the sake of it, don't be guilty you aren't working. You can always catch up.
5. Cooking from scratch is good for the soul and the body.
I'm praying you find Hope, in this difficult time.
~Ruthie.
