About Me

I am Ruthie, aka Deborah Thompson.  A musician based in Auckland, New Zealand.  

I have a love for jazz and blues, and any music that is good.

Joy is playing in large ensemble or small groups, connecting with other musicians to create something special.  My key instruments are piano and guitar but I also play bass and clarinet as required.   This is helpful when making my own recordings.

I also relish accompanying vocalists on guitar or piano, choosing the instruments that supports each song best.
